Shell in Iraq

At Shell we aim to meet energy needs in ways that are economically and environmentally viable in our countries of operation. In Iraq, this approach is fully aligned with the country’s strategy of capturing currently flared gas, optimising the investment in its natural resources to achieve energy independence and creating employment opportunities for Iraqis. Shell is doing so through our operations in the Basra Gas Company joint venture and our proposed Nebras petrochemicals project. As one of the first investors in Iraq’s energy sector we are committed to deliver long term value for Iraq and its people for years to come.

Powering Progress

Shell’s strategy to accelerate the transition of our business to net-zero emissions, in step with society. Powering Progress is designed to create value for shareholders, customers and wider society.
